The No. 8 Georgia Bulldogs and the No. 6 Florida Gators will meet in Jacksonville this coming Saturday in a game that could have major implications on how the SEC East will conclude. Both are still hoping to get into the top four of the AP Poll, and a win over the other will certainly be a big boost to that goal.

Betting on the Georgia Bulldogs (6-1 Overall / 3-1 Conference)
The Bulldogs were looking for something to vent their frustrations over their gut-wrenching 20-17 double-overtime home loss to the South Carolina Gamecocks that virtually popped the balloon of Georgia’s College Football Playoff hopes and found one in the form of the Kentucky Wildcats, whom Georgia clobbered for a 21-0 home win last Saturday. That being said, the Bulldogs still left much to be desired, especially from their offense that had some miscues. They will have to be much better against Florida, which has an unforgiving and relentless defense. While the Gators’ defense should pose problems for Georgia, the Bulldogs have a weapon in the form of running back D’Andre Swift to counter with. Swift, who rushed for 179 yards and a pair of touchdowns in the win over the Wildcats, leads the SEC with an average of 107.4 rushing yards per game to go with seven rushing touchdowns. As a team, Georgia is tops in the conference with 236.86 rushing yards per contest.
The under is 4-1 in the Bulldogs’ last five games.
Betting on the Florida Gators (7-1 Overall / 4-1 Conference)
The Gators will be getting back on the field after a bye in Week 9. Prior to that, they bounced back from a salty 42-28 loss in Death Valley on Oct. 12 with a 38-27 road win over the South Carolina Gamecocks on Oct. 19. Against the Gamecocks, the Gators showed that they can also win with their offense. Quarterback Kyle Trask had 200 passing yards and four touchdowns against an interception on 21-of-33 completions, while Florida’s backfield came up with 154 rushing yards and a touchdown on 30 carries for an average of 5.1 yards per rushing attempt. Florida has allowed 27.3 points over its last three games, though, one of those games was against the high-powered LSU Tigers. The Gamecocks were able to chip their way through Florida’s defense, though, the Gators were missing a pair of key defenders in Jabari Zuniga and Jonathan Greenard. The two are expected by Florida head coach Dan Mullen to take part in practice in preparation for the meeting with the Bulldogs.
The Gators are 4-0-1 against the spread (ATS) in their last five games.
Writer’s Prediction
Georgia wins, 23-20.
