Stetson Bennett always delivers in big-time games, and he did it again in Week 11 at home against the Vols, passing for 257 yards and two touchdowns with zero interceptions on 17/25 completions. Even better was Georgia’s defense that grounded Tennessee quarterback Herndon Hooker, who was not able to find anyone in the end zone nor even touch 200 passing yards. That defense is expected to neutralize Mississippi State’s attack which can be quite predictable due to its pass-heavy schemes.
Georgia is 3-1 against the spread in its last four games, including a cover in the matchup versus Tennessee.
Betting on the Mississippi State Bulldogs (+16.5)
Record: 6-3 Overall / 3-3 Conference
Mississippi State had lost to the Kentucky Wildcats and the Alabama Crimson Tide prior to the win over Auburn. This is a team that isn’t going to be fazed at the very least when matched up against the elites of college football this season. Against the Tigers, Mississippi State quarterback Mississippi State passed for 357 yards and three touchdowns against an interception on 32/60 completions to break Dak Prescott’s career passing yards and touchdowns for the school. The Bulldogs have been passing the ball a lot all season long, so don’t expect them to drastically change their approach even against Georgia.
Mississippi State is 5-4-1 against the spread in its last 10 games as the home team.
Writer’s Prediction
Georgia wins, 44-10.
