Betting on the Golden State Warriors (odds)

Regular Season Record: 28-28

Stephen Curry is just unreal right now. He is playing out of his mind, doing a magnificent job of keeping the Warriors afloat. Curry scored 33 points on 12-25 shooting from the field, while Andrew Wiggins had 23 points in their 119-10 road win over the Cleveland Cavaliers last Thursday. The two-time MVP has been lights out this season, but more especially over the Warriors’ last several games. Curry has averaged 38.2 points on 54.5 field goal percentage and 47.1 3-point shooting percentage in his last nine games. It could be remembered that he had 38 points on 12-21 shooting with 7 threes in the Warriors’ 111-107 home loss to Boston last February. He should be the focal point of the Warriors’ offense again, as it should be in every game. The Warriors have won all their last four games and are 2-0 against the spread in their last two games away from the Bay Area.

Betting on the Boston Celtics (odds)

Regular Season Record: 30-26

First of all, with the way Curry is playing lately, there might be no one out there who could take him out of his rhythm. But that doesn’t mean the Celtics don’t have capable defenders who could try to contain the Warriors’ star. For one, the Celtics have Marcus Smart, who wasn’t even around when they beat the Warriors in the first meeting. But the Celtics can also just beat Golden State’s defense and win through their offense. Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown can attack the lane and not be worried about elite protection on the part of Golden State, which is thin in the front-court. The two combined for 45 points in the win over the Warriors. Moreover, the Celtics should be able to win the rebounding battle just like they did in the initial meeting with Golden State when they grabbed 51 boards to just 36 by the Warriors.

The Celtics are 5-0 straight up in their last five games, covering the spread in four of them.

Writer’s Prediction

The Celtics win, 118-110.
