In an alternate universe, the Golden State Warriors are facing the Phoenix Suns in an NBA Finals series, but in this universe of ours, that’s not the case. Instead, it’s only the Warriors who are capable of going to the Finals, while the Suns are buried under many layers of teams in the power rankings, thanks to their season-long ugly play. It’s the tale of both worlds this Saturday as the Warriors meet the Suns. Let’s head to the preview of this game.

Betting on the Golden State Warriors (57-22)
Golden State is coming off of a hard loss (by 20-points) to the Pacers as they enter the weekend. Still, the Warriors could all play with their hands tied behind their backs and they’d probably beat Phoenix. Seriously, though, Golden State is the favorite in this matchup even without Stephen Curry, who is out for the regular season with a knee injury. With Kevin Durant, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green on the floor, the Warriors should have no problem burrowing through a pathetic Suns defense that ranks worst in the league with 113.3 points allowed per game. On the flipside, the Warriors own a deadly offense that is No. 1 in the NBA with 113.9 points generated per outing. Quinn Cook could look like Michael Jordan against that Suns’ stop unit. Speaking of Cook, the former Duke Blue Devil has averaged 23.5 points versus the Suns this season.
Betting on the Phoenix Suns (20-59)
The Suns lost by “just” 10 points to Golden State on Apr. 1 on the road, 117-107, which was relatively what one would consider a success for the them since Phoenix has not looked like an NBA squad capable of even avoiding getting blown out to smithereens by a team like the Warriors. Devin Booker, Elfrid Payton, and TJ Warren are all very unlikely to play against the Warriors because of tanking injuries, so expect to see guys like Tyler Ulis, Marquese Chriss, Troy Daniels, and Josh Jackson to get heavy minutes. Jackson has averaged 22.0 points in three Golden State games this season. He and Chris had 22 points apiece in the loss to Golden State on April Fool’s Day. The Suns are 6-4 ATS in their last 10 home games against the Warriors.
Writer’s Prediction:
Golden State wins, 116-102.
