The Packers didn’t have Jordan Love in their Week 2 23-14 home loss to the New York Jets, as the sophomore quarterback. Love was not given the green light to play against the Jets because of a minor shoulder issue. And if that continues to be a problem for him in Week 3, the Packers can still turn to Kurt Benkert, who had a decent performance in the Jets game. Benkert had 151 passing yards with a touchdown and an interception on 18-of-25 completions. It’s also possible that Aaron Rodgers will get to see some snaps against the Bills just to get him the feeling of competition. Meanwhile, running back Kylin Hill has been looking good in these preseason games. Against the Jets, he rushed seven times for 29 yards and a touchdown and also had a pair of receptions for 11 yards gain.
The over is 8-2 in the Packers’ last 10 preseason games.
Betting on the Buffalo Bills (-7.5)
Regular Season Record: 2-0
Playing like he’s got something to prove to his old team, Mitchell Trubisky balled out in Week 2’s 41-15 road win over the Chicago Bears. Trubisky went 20 of 28 for 221 passing yards and a touchdown without an interception. He played like the Trubisky the Bears dreamed he would be but failed to become in his years in Windy City. With that kind of momentum, Trubisky could have another good start in him before the end of the preseason. The Packers’ lousy defense could make the Bills explode again offensively. The Packers have given up at least 24 points in each of their last two games, while the Bills are just coming off a game in which they went supernova on offense. The Bills also had three rushing scores against Chicago.
Writer’s Prediction
The Bills win, 22-16.
