Betting on the Green Bay Packers (2-1 Preseason Record)

The Packers will go as far as where quarterback Aaron Rodgers takes them, but Rodgers will only be as healthy as how his protection unit does. And if the Packers ‘ offensive line will be just as good as it was in last week’s 13-6 road loss to the Oakland Raiders, then that brittle collarbone of Rodgers  might crack again at some point in the regular season. Against the Raiders, Rodgers did not play but DeShone Kizer and Brett Hundley were sacked by a total of five times for a loss of 43 yards. Running back Aaron Jones, who is slated to start for at least the Packers’ first two games of the regular season or while Jamaal Williams serves his two-game suspension.

Green Bay failed to cover its five-point spread as the road underdog against Oakland, though, the Packers are 3-1 ATS in their last four preseason contests.

Betting on the Kansas City Chiefs (1-2 Preseason Record)

The Chiefs’ first team on defense has struggled in the preseason, causing some to worry about whether the malaise will continue into the regular season. In Kansas City’s 27-20 loss to the Chicago Bears at home, Bears quarterback Chase Daniel became the third signal-caller in the preseason to lead a touchdown drive versus Kansas City’s starting defense. That kind of defense can be vulnerable against a Packers offense that dropped 51 points in Week 2 of the preseason at Lambeau Field against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The under is 4-1 in the Chiefs’ last five preseason games at home. They are also 2-3 ATS in those games.

Writer’s Prediction

Green Bay’s offense wins, 26-20.
