Pitching:
Keuchel found his groove late in the first half, as he went a fantastic 4-0 to go with a 2.17 ERA in his last six starts. That stretch includes is performance on July 13, when he pitched six innings and allowed zero runs on six hits in a 3-0 home win over Detroit. Skaggs isn’t too shabby either with his recent form, as he has not allowed more than a run in each of his last six starts. He has a 1.88 ERA in his last 43 innings on the mound.
Hitting:
- Mike Trout is 14-for-41 with two homers vs. Keuchel.
- Jose Altuve is 7-for-18 vs. Skaggs.
Writer’s Prediction:

Starters: Justin Verlander (9-5, 2.29 ERA) vs. Nick Tropeano (3-4, 4.83 ERA)
Pitching:
Unlike Keuchel, Verlander did not wind down his first half with a string of solid performances, as the former Cy Young winner went 0-3 with a 4.10 ERA in his last six starts. Still, he is 7-2 with a 1.99 ERA in nine road starts this year. Tropeano, meanwhile, will make his first start since June 10 after hitting the disabled list with a shoulder issue. He is 0-2 with a 6.12 ERA in five home starts this season.
Hitting:
- Albert Pujols is 10-for-33 with two homers vs. Verlander.
- Josh Reddick is 4-for-9 vs. Tropeano.

Starters: Lance McCullers Jr. (10-4, 3.77 ERA) vs. Andrew Heaney (5-6, 3.78 ERA)
Pitching:
McCullers has won an impressive total of 10 games in 14 starts in the first half of the season and he will look to keep the good times rolling this Sunday against the Angels. He had a 4-0 record and a 2.60 ERA before having trouble dealing with Oakland in an 8-3 loss on July 11 when he gave up six earned runs on four hits in only four innings of action on the mound. Heaney, on the other hand, is 5-2 with a 2.41 ERA in eight home starts so far this year.

- Justin Upton is 4-for-10 vs. McCullers.
- Houston’s current lineup is 9-for-51 vs. Heaney.
