Betting on the Houston Astros (odds)

Regular Season Record: 56-29

The Astros are on a tear. They have returned in the win column with a 6-1 victory over the Oakland A’s Sunday following a 3-2 loss to the Athletics Saturday. The Astros are now 10-2 in their last 12 games and will be looking to victimize the Angels again. Houston is 7-3 this season in games against the Halos. The Astros also swept Shohei Ohtani and the Angels in a three-game series earlier this month of July. Luis Garcia starts for Houston this Tuesday and he will be entering the game with a 7-5 record and a 3.81 ERA along with a 1.09 WHIP. He allowed 3 earned runs on 4 hits in 5.2 innings of an 8-3 victory over the Angels at home back in April.

Betting on the Los Angeles Angels (odds)

Regular Season Record: 38-49

The Angeles will look to arrest their losing skid after getting swept by the Baltimore Orioles in a four-game series on the road. Los Angeles has won just once over its last nine games. It’s frustrating to see the Angels pick up plenty of losses this season, considering that they have arguably two of the best players in the world today in Ohtani and Mike Trout. On the mound Tuesday for Los Angeles is another stud in Noah Syndergaard, who is 5-7 with a 3.84 ERA and 1.17 WHIP this year. In his last start, Thor allowed just 2 earned runs on 5 hits in 5.0 innings of a 2-1 road loss to the Miami Marlins on July 5.

Writer’s Prediction

The Astros win, 6-3.
