Regular Season Record: 16-49
The Rockets have a date with the Philadelphia 76ers first on Wednesday before they shift their focus on the rematch against the Bucks. But we all know the top narrative for the Rockets in this looming match versus Milwaukee, and that’s if Kevin Porter Jr. can explode anew. Porter went full Super Saiyan late last April when he exploded for a career-high 50 points on 16-of-26 shooting from the field with 9 3-pointers to lead Houston to a 143-136 home win. Kelly Olynyk also had a great performance in that game, scoring 24 points with 13 rebounds., Christian Wood put up 31 points as well, though it’s uncertain whether he’d play this Friday because of a couple of lower-body ailments. But if he plays against the Sixers, that should be a good sign for his availability on Friday.
The Rockets are 3-1 in their last four road games.
Betting on the Milwaukee Bucks (-16.5)
Regular Season Record: 41-24
Milwaukee has to deal with Russell Westbrook and the Washington Wizards first Wednesday before hosting the Rockets. In their last game, as of this writing, the Bucks scored a 124-118 win at home over the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday. That’s the Bucks’ third in a row and fourth in five games. Giannis Antetokounmpo is on a groove right now and that spells trouble for the Rockets. Antetokounmpo had 49 points in the 117-114 win over the Nets last Sunday before dropping 36 more in the next game against the same team on Tuesday. Antetokounmpo barely played in the loss to Houston, lasting just a minute on the floor before leaving the game with an ankle injury. Well, that ankle problem is obviously not an issue anymore, so expect the Bucks’ offense to get even better even more terrifying this time than the last time they met Houston. Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday had 33 and 29 points, respectively in the loss to Houston, while Bryn Forbes came off the bench and fired 30 points.
The Bucks are 3-1 against the spread in their last four home games against Houston.
Writer’s Prediction
The Bucks win, 130-110.
