Betting on the Houston Texans (+4)
Regular Season Record: 2-11
Houston is having a forgettable season, but if there’s one thing the Texans wouldn’t erase from their 2021 memory storage, it’s got to be their Week 1 37-21 home win over Jacksonville. In that game, Tyrod Taylor passed for two touchdowns and zero interceptions to go with 291 passing yards on 21/33 completions. Houston also rushed for a couple of touchdowns. Houston’s defense also stepped up, intercepting rookie quarterback Trevor Lawrence three times and holding Jacksonville to only 76 rushing yards. It’s hard to say that the Jaguars have gotten better offensively since then, as they have just been shut out by the Tennessee Titans last Sunday. As for Houston, it hasn’t been rosy for the team either since, but the Texans just seem to be less dysfunctional on and off the field of late than Jacksonville.
The Texans, who lost at home to the Seattle Seahawks (33-13) in Week 14, are 5-2 against the spread in their last 7 games in Jacksonville.
