Bleacher Report

Adam Wells | Helio Castroneves |
[sc:Other240banner ]Helio Castroneves hasn’t won this race since 2009. But that didn’t stop Adam Wells of Bleacher Report to pick the talented Brazilian to win the 99th edition of the Indy 500. Castroneves hasn’t finished the Indy 500 outside the top 10 since 2011. He almost captured his fourth Indy 500 title last year but eventually lost a razor-thin race to Ryan Hunter-Reay.
It’s also interesting to note that Castroneves finished with the fastest practice time of any driver at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway at 233.47 miles per hour. At 40 years old and with three Indy 500 titles to his name, Castroneves has the experience to never get rattled under any circumstance. Those qualities make Castroneves a hot pick at +600 to win the race.

Eric Smith | Juan Pablo Montoya |
There’s no hotter driver heading to Indianapolis than Juan Pablo Montoya, Eric Smith of Race Review Online notes. Montoya is surging at the start of the season, making four top five finishes including a win in five starts this year.
Montoya is also another experienced driver who has seen it all. He’s won an IndyCar Series Championship in his career and already has one Indy 500 victory. Like Castroneves, Montoya is a member of the famed Team Penske, which has some of the fastest cars in the series. Montoya is quick, fearless and tough to beat. He also gives a payout of +700 to win the Indy 500.

Indie Race Reviewer | James Hinchcliffe |
Despite odds, dangerous debris, a Honda disadvantage and a leg injury, Indie Race Reviewer predicts James Hinchcliffe to win this year’s Indy 500. It’s not too far-fetched to believe with Hinchcliffe posting two top 10 finishes this year, including a trip to victory lane at the Grand Prix of Louisiana in April.
The NOLA Motorsports Park, where Hinchcliffe won his first race of the season, is a road track much different than the oval of Indianapolis. But there have been some surprising results this season such as Josef Newgarden’s first win at Barber. If there’s a dark horse to turn some heads in this race, it’s going to be Hinchcliffe. He is +4,000 to win the Indy 500.
