Patrick Mahomes and Mitch Trubisky were the first two signal-callers taken in the 2017 NFL Draft. This Saturday, they will engage in a preseason duel in Windy City, as the leaders of their respective teams’ offense.
Meanwhile, at press, the Chiefs are +235 to win the AFC West division in their first season after the Alex Smith era. The Bears, on the other hand, are +900 to win the NFC North. Going into this weekend’s game, Chicago is a slight favorite by less than a field goal at the sportsbook.

Betting on the Kansas City Chiefs (+2)
The Chiefs’ offense is now being driven by quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who showed his ability to electrify on the field last week, when he threw a 69-yard bomb of a touchdown pass to wide receiver Tyreek Hill in a 28-14 win. Mahomes finished the game with 138 yards, a touchdown, and an interception on 8-of-12 pass completions. The interception blemished his stat line, but he can continue working on his game this weekend against the Bears’ defense that might play most of its starters instead of the second, third, and fourth stringers the team frequently used in their previous preseason games. Also look out for wide receiver Sammy Watkins, who is eager to get his first reception in the preseason.
The Chiefs are 3-1 ATS in their last four road games in the preseason.
Betting on the Chicago Bears (-2)
Speaking of the Bears’ defense, Chicago fans may finally get a glimpse of the man the team spent a first-round pick on in action this Saturday, as it’s being reported that linebacker Roquan Smith is set to make his NFL debut against the Chiefs. The Bears are coming off a close 24-23 road win over the Denver Broncos. Chase Daniel did most of the work under center for Chicago with 189 passing yards with two touchdowns on 19-of-28 completions. This time around, though, it’s likely Mitch Trubisky’s turn to take over directing the offense. Trubisky, the projected Chicago starter in the regular season, went 9-of-14 last week against the Broncos for 90 yards with a touchdown against an interception.
