Betting on the Kansas City Chiefs (9-6)
The Kansas City Chiefs are happy to be in winners of the AFC West again this season. The Chiefs recently beat 29-13. Last week’s win against the Dolphins put the team in the postseason again this year. This year, the Chiefs are looking to get past the first round. Quarterback Alex Smith has played well this year. He has passed for 4042 yards, 26 touchdowns and five interceptions this season. Smith passed for 304 yards and one touchdown last week against the Dolphins.
The Chiefs had 404 yards of total offense against the Dolphins last week. Look for Smith to possibly not start in this game. Chiefs are already locked in for the playoffs this season. Look for rookie quarterback Patrick Mahomes to show his talents at quarterback for the Chiefs this week.
Defensively, look for the Chiefs to play backups in this game. Last week, the Kansas City defense held Miami to 345 total yards. Look for the Chiefs to hold the Broncos to the same amount or less. Kansas City is hopeful the secondary can turn things around. The team allowed a shade under 260 yards yards per game passing this season. The Chiefs are going to have to do a lot to get fired up for this game. With the backups likely to finish the game, Look for a lot of second and third string guys to be playing in this one.
Betting on the Denver Broncos (5-10)
The Denver Broncos are done for the year. The team is looking to rebuilt next season. The Broncos will be in the market for a quarterback this off season. The team has started Brock Osweiler. Denver has won two of their last three games, and most recently lost to the Washington Redskins, 27-11. The Denver offense allowed 386 yards of total offense in the loss at Washington.
Quarterback Brock Osweiler passed for 193 yards, no touchdowns and one interception in the loss. Osweiler will start again this week for Denver, but the start could be his last.
Expect the Broncos to mix it up a bit offensively in the last game of the year. The team will be doing a lot of talent evaluating in this matchup. Look for quarterback and running back to be evaluated heavily.
On the defensive side of the ball, the Broncos still have a solid unit. The team will bring back defensive leader Von Miller for next year. Look for the defense to be one best in the NFL next season. Expect the Broncos defense to feature a lot of second and third string players on defense in this one.
Writer’s Prediction
The table is set for the outcome of both teams seasons. Look for this game to have a preseason type of feel. Alex Smith probably won’t start, so it’s is hard to expect what the Chiefs offense will bring to the table. The Broncos are bad this year, but will get the win at home. Pick: Broncos (+3.5)
