Betting Preview for the Phoenix Suns vs Denver Nuggets NBA Playoffs Second Round Game 1 on April 29, 2023

Where: Ball Arena, Denver

When: Saturday, April 29, 2023, 8:00 PM ET

Line: Phoenix Suns (+2.5) vs. Denver Nuggets (-2.5) – view all 2020-21 NBA lines

TV Broadcast: TNT

Betting on the Phoenix Suns (+2.5)

Regular Season Record: 45-37

The Suns made quick work of the Los Angeles Clippers in the first round, winning that series in only five games. Granted that the Clippers did not have Paul George and only had Kawhi Leonard for two games in that series, it’s hard to argue against the terrifying strength the Suns showed in the opening round of the playoffs. The Suns averaged 122.0 points on 51.5 percent shooting from the field versus the Clippers, with Devin Booker and Kevin Durant showing the way on offense.

The Suns are 3-2 against the spread in their last five games away from home.

Betting on the Denver Nuggets (-2.5)

Regular Season Record: 53-29

Like the Suns, Denver had a gentleman’s sweep of the Minnesota Timberwolves in the first round. The Nuggets thoroughly outclassed the Timberwolves in every department. The tandem of Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray is in fine form, while the likes of Michael Porter Jr., Aaron Gordon, and Bruce Brown provide a little bit of everything. Murray led the Nuggets in the first round in scoring with an average of 27.4 points per game, while Kokic put up 26.2 points, 12.4 rebounds, and 9.0 assists per contest.

As a team, the Nuggets are 4-1 against the spread in their last five games as the home team.

Writer’s Prediction

The Suns win, 114-112.
