Betting on the Denver Nuggets (+3.5)
Regular Season Record: 53-29
The Nuggets are rolling. Nikola Jokic and his team have total command of the series so far, as the Suns continue to look befuddled in the series, unable to find a solution to Denver’s juggernaut attack. Jokic posted 39 points with 16 rebounds and five assists in 41 minutes in Game 2 to compensate for the cold-shooting night of Jamal Murray, who shot just 3/15 from the field for only 10 points.
The Nuggets have won seven of their last 10 games. They also went 7-3 against the spread in that span, with the total hitting the Over six times.
Betting on the Phoenix Suns (-3.5)
Regular Season Record: 45-37
It’s been a disappointing series so far in the second round for Kevin Durant and the Suns. Making it worse for Phoenix is the groin injury of Chris Paul, which he suffered in Game 2. He is questionable for Game 3. Durant scored 24 points in Game 2 but shot just 10/27 shooting. Devin Booker paced the Suns with 35 points on 14/29 shooting.
The Suns are 8-2 straight up in their last 10 games as the home team. They are also 5-5 against the spread in those contests.
Writer’s Prediction
The Suns win, 125-115.
