Betting on the Philadelphia 76ers (ODDS)

Regular Season Record: 49-25

It’s a bit surprising to see the Sixers stumble of late. They have gone just 1-3 straight-up over their last four games and lost both of their last two outings, including the one against the Phoenix Suns on the road Saturday, 125-105. But if the Sixers need something to light a fire from under them, especially for Joel Embiid, it will be the prospect of facing the Nuggets on the road this Monday. Embiid has something to prove in his matchup against Nikola Jokic, and that’s that he is the better player between them. But don’t sleep on Tyrese Maxey, who just exploded for 37 points in the Suns game, albeit in a loss. Embiid had 47 points and 18 rebounds in the Sixers’ 126-119 home win against Denver last January.

The Sixers are 6-4 against the spread in their last 10 games against Denver.

Betting on the Denver Nuggets (ODDS)

Regular Season Record: 50-24

Denver scored another huge win last Saturday, as the Nuggets destroyed Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks at home. Jokic, as usual, played like an MVP, scoring 31 points with six rebounds, and 11 assists. Meanwhile, Jamal Murray chipped in 26 points with a 5/10 shooting line from behind the arc. The Nuggets are now on a three-game win streak, during which they have been shooting the ball exceptionally well. In that span, the Nuggets connected on 51.4 percent of their shots from the field and hit 44.3 percent of their 3-point attempts. With Jokic running the offense and just being so efficient with the ball, the Nuggets as a whole are greater than the sum of their parts.

The Nuggets are 7-3 against the spread in their last 10 home games.

Writer’s Prediction

The Nuggets win, 115-112.
