Betting on the Kansas City Chiefs (-2.5)
Regular Season Record: 4-2
Patrick Mahomes passed for 338 yards and two touchdowns with two interceptions on 25/40 completions against the Bills. Despite the loss, the Chiefs must still be happy to see wide receiver Juju Smith-Schuster blow up for 113 yards and a touchdown on just five catches and five targets. He complemented tight end Travis Kelce’s production of 108 receiving yards on eight receptions. The truth about Kansas City is that as long as Mahomes is healthy, this is a team that can win any given game, especially against struggling teams like San Francisco. Sure, the Chiefs lost to Buffalo, but Kansas City always finds a way to be in a position to score a victory. Both the Chiefs’ losses this season are within four points.
The Over is 6-4 in the Chiefs’ last 10 games overall.
Betting on the San Francisco 49ers (+2.5)
Regular Season Record: 3-3
The 49ers just hope that they will be much healthier sooner than later. Banged up with plenty of key injuries, especially on the offensive line, the Niners still managed to prevent Jimmy Garoppolo from getting sacked in Week 6. Garoppolo, however, was intercepted twice. Going up against the Chiefs in Week 7, the 49ers can take advantage of Kansas City’s seemingly porous defense that has allowed an average of 28 points in its last three games. Brandon Aiyuk is coming off a great performance with 83 receiving yards and two touchdowns on eight catches, while George Kittle had 83 receiving yards as well on eight receptions.
The 49ers are 7-3 against the spread in their last 10 games overall.
Writer’s Prediction
The Chiefs win, 30-24.
