Betting on the Milwaukee Bucks (-1.5)

Regular Season Record: 48-26

The Bucks’ offense woke up big time in Game 2 after a so-so performance in Game 1. Milwaukee shot 48.9 percent from the field and knocked down 22 threes on 53 attempts for a 41.5 percent accuracy in a 132-98 blowout win over the Heat at home in Game 2. Giannis Antetokounpo scored 31 points to go with 13 rebounds, six assists, and three steals, while Bryn Forbes came out of nowhere to score 22 points with six threes. That’s the beauty of this Bucks team. There are so many players capable of scoring in bunches, and who knows if Game 3 would see anyone from the likes of Bobby Portis, Donte DiVincenzo, or even Forbes again going ballistic. The Bucks are also destroying Miami on the glass, as they are averaging 62.5 rebounds per game in the series to just 43.5 by Miami.

The Bucks have covered the spread in eight of their last 11 games in the first round of the playoffs. The under is also 6-1 in their last seven games after a win.

Betting on the Miami Heat (+1.5)

Regular Season Record: 40-34

Jimmy Butler was the biggest reason why the Heat made a deep run in the playoffs last year. In this series against the Bucks so far, he’s among the main reasons why the Heat are not winning. Butler, who scored only 10 points in Game 2, is shooting just 25.0 percent from the field, 22.2 percent from deep, and is averaging just 13.5 points per contest. It’s Goran Dragic, who’s been playing the best among the Heat against the Bucks, as though he was making up for the lost opportunity of playing in the NBA Finals in the 2020 bubble. After scoring 18 points off the bench in Game 2, Dragic is now leading the Heat in the series with 21.5 points on 53.6 percent shooting from the field. Another player who needs to wake up is Bam Adebayo. He scored 16 points in Game 2, but only pulled down four rebounds.

The Heat are 6-0-1 against the spread in their last seven games after giving up over 100 points. The over is also 12-3 in the Heat’s last 15 games overall.

Writer’s Prediction

The Heat wins, 118-116.
