Betting on the New Orleans Saints (4-5)
The New Orleans Saints entered Week 9 with some serious momentum on their side thanks to a three-game winning streak. But that didn’t intimidate the Titans at all as they sent them back down to earth on Sunday afternoon via a thrilling 34-28 overtime victory. Marcus Mariota, who finally returned after missing three weeks due to a knee injury, led the way by throwing for 371 yards and four TDs.
[sc:NFL240banner ]Making the loss even tougher to swallow is the fact that the Saints’ held a 21-point lead at a certain point of the game. The resiliency of the Titans was just too much to fend off. Their QB Drew Brees did everything he could to give them their fifth win of the season with 387 yards and three touchdowns while being sacked four times.
Now, Brees and company head towards Week 11 with redemption in their minds when they travel to the capital and take on the Washington Redskins at FedEx Field. They have to feel a little confident in this game as the Redskins’ defense is allowing 372.9 total yards per contest this season, the 12th-most in the league.
Expect RB Mark Ingram and WR Willie Snead to take full advantage of the opposing defense. Ingram, who currently leads the team with 530 rushing yards, was limited by the Titans to 54 yards on 22 rushes last Sunday. He’ll surely be looking to bounce back from it. Snead, on the other hand, has been a very reliable target, hauling in a total of 531 receiving yards with three TDs across eight games.
Also, Brandin Cooks and Benjamin Watson are going to be worth noting in this one. Both have combined for 1004 yards receiving and six scores in the same stretch.
New Orleans is 5-5 SU and 6-4 ATS in its past 10 games on the road.

Betting on the Washington Redskins (3-5)
After edging out a much-needed win in Week 8 against the Bucs, the Washington Redskins are back on the losing column again. They were trounced by the New England Patriots on Sunday with a final score of 27-10. Tom Brady was solid once again, completing 26 of his 39 passes for 299 yards and two touchdowns.
But the Redskins also dug their own grave in this game. They severely struggled on offense, managing to garner just 15 total yards in the first quarter and were eventually being outgained by 210 at the end of regulation. QB Kirk Cousins, who finished threw for 217 yards, only gave his team its first and only touchdown of the game—via Jordan Reed—during the final seconds of the second quarter.
Looking ahead to their impending date with the New Orleans Saints this weekend, the Burgundy and Gold can’t have another showing like this if they wish to come out smiling.
In order to do so, they should take good note of the fact that the Saints are the second-worst team right now when it comes to defense, averaging 414.8 total yards given up per contest. That being the case, Alfred Morris and Reed have got to wake up from their slump and provide that long lost spark on offense.
Morris has not looked like the player who erupted for 121 yards on 25 carries in their season-opener against Miami, but he still is their No. 1 option at the running back position with a team-best of 302 rushing yards. Reed, meanwhile, could likely be the one leading the attack on the air. The 25-year-old tight end is on track for a career season, hauling in 35 of 47 targets for 350 yards receiving already.
Defense, though, will play a major role in the outcome of this game. The Saints are garnering 423.3 total yards per game this year and the pressure is really going to be on LB Ryan Kerrigan, who has 3.5 sacks under his name, to lead the way in forcing Drew Brees away from his comfort spots.
Washington is 6-4 SU and 7-3 ATS in its last 10 meetings with New Orleans.
