AFC East
The AFC East remains the Patriots’ kingdom but them winning more than 10 games this season appears to be in jeopardy this season. Tom Brady is suspended for the first four games, which means the quarterbacking duties will be on the shoulders of Jimmy Garoppolo.Bill Belichick is Bill Belichick, however, so the Pats’ chances of surpassing or matching 10 wins is closer to reality than what some skeptics like to believe.
Teams | Wins Over/Under | Predictions |
---|---|---|
New England Patriots | 10.5 | Over |
New York Jets | 7.5 | Under |
Buffalo Bills | 8.0 | Under |
Miami Dolphins | 7.0 | Over |
AFC North
Speaking of suspensions, let’s talk a bit about the Steelers. Pittsburgh begins the season minus running back Le’Veon Bell, who’ll be out for the first three Steelers games as penalty for substance abuse. The Steelers will also not have Martavis Bryant for the whole season for exactly the same violation. Whether those two suspensions are enough for the other Steelers to learn their lesson remains to be seen. What’s certain is that the absences of Bell and Bryant will slow down Pittsburgh, which is also pressed to do better on the other side of the ball after finishing last season 27th in scoring defense.
Teams | Wins Over/Under | Predictions |
---|---|---|
Pittsburgh Steelers | 10.5 | Under |
Cincinnati Bengals | 9.5 | Under |
Baltimore Ravens | 8.5 | Under |
Cleveland Browns | 4.5 | Over |
AFC South
There is reason for the Colts to be ecstatic this season. Andrew Luck is healthy again after playing in just seven games in 2015 due to numerous injuries. Apart from that, the offensive line got better with the team plugging holes on the unit by spending four picks on offensive line pieces during the recent NFL Draft. Better pass protection and a 100% Andrew Luck are the Colts’ top weapons to contend for at least a division title.
Teams | Wins Over/Under | Predictions |
---|---|---|
Indianapolis Colts | 9.5 | Over |
Houston Texans | 8.5 | Under |
Jacksonville Jaguars | 7.5 | Over |
Tennessee Titans | 5.5 | Under |
AFC West
It wasn’t long ago when everybody were laughing at the Raiders. But finding a long-term quarterback in Derek Carr and adding a few more other excellent pieces on both offense and defense have diminished the number of team’s doubters and multiplied those who want to jump on the Oakland bandwagon, including this writer. Bet on the over for these Raiders and watch them contend in the AFC West, where they are +195 to win the division.
Teams | Wins Over/Under | Predictions |
---|---|---|
Denver Broncos | 9.5 | Under |
Kansas City Chiefs | 9.5 | Under |
Oakland Raiders | 8.5 | Over |
San Diego Chargers | 7.5 | Over |
NFC East
Have the Cowboys done enough in the offseason to win the NFC East? With a healthy Tony Romo and Dez Bryant, the addition of Ezekiel Elliott, and a sturdy offensive line, the Cowboys are being groomed as the faves to win the division with odds of +165 to do so. Still, the Cowboys are prone to being overhyped because of their massive fanbase so be careful in choosing where to bet on their total wins.
Teams | Wins Over/Under | Predictions |
---|---|---|
Dallas Cowboys | 9.5 | Under |
Washington Redskins | 7.5 | Over |
New York Giants | 8.0 | Under |
Philadelphia Eagles | 6.5 | Under |
NFC North
There’s no need to panic for Packers faithful after the team failed to win the NFC North last season. Having Aaron Rodgers under center is a luxury for Green Bay. Rodgers managed to tow the Packers to the playoffs despite a receiving crew tattered with injuries so imagine what Rodgers could do with Jordy Nelson back up and flying again. We’re betting that Green Bay would win at least 11 games this season. And before we forget, let us throw this at you: the Packers have the easiest strength of schedule in the NFL.
Teams | Wins Over/Under | Predictions |
---|---|---|
Green Bay Packers | 10.5 | Over |
Minnesota Vikings | 9.5 | Over |
Detroit Lions | 7.0 | Under |
Chicago Bears | 7.5 | Over |
NFC South
The Panthers nearly went undefeated in 2015, finishing the regular season with a 15-1 record. However, their win total line is set at just 10.5 for 2016. While this looks like a lack of sportsbooks’ confidence for a team that was used by the Broncos to mop the floor in Super Bowl 50, it’s hard not to recognize the immense talent on Carolina’s roster. Cam Newton is the same dual-threat quarterback who should benefit from the experience he gained last season.
Josh Norman is gone, but Luke Kuechly and the three cornerbacks selected in the NFL Draft should more than compensate for that loss. And hey, we should not forget that Kelvin Benjamin is set to take the field again after spending the whole 2015 recovering from an ACL injury.
Teams | Wins Over/Under | Predictions |
---|---|---|
Carolina Panthers | 10.5 | Over |
Atlanta Falcons | 7.5 | Under |
New Orleans Saints | 7.0 | Under |
Tampa Bay Buccaneers | 7.5 | Over |
NFC West
Just because the Seahawks “didn’t” made it to the Super Bowl last season doesn’t mean they’re trending downwards. The fact that some people are declaring that the Seahawks are on the decline based on the premise that Seattle wasn’t present in Santa Clara last February is a testament to the true potential of the team. With Russell Wilson, a much-acclimatized Jimmy Graham, Thomas Rawls, and the underrated Doug Baldwin on offense paired with a still solid defense, look for the Seahawks to shut their naysayers down this season.
Teams | Wins Over/Under | Predictions |
---|---|---|
Seattle Seahawks | 10.5 | Under |
Arizona Cardinals | 10.0 | Under |
San Francisco 49ers | 5.5 | Over |
St. Louis Rams | 7.5 | Under |
