The No. 7 Duke Blue Devils (+1100 to win the national title) are still playing catchup to the No. 5 Louisville Cardinals for first place in the Atlantic Coast Conference standings. With a handful of games left in conference play, they can definitely achieve that goal. Meanwhile, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish take aim to go over .500 in conference play this Saturday.

Betting on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish (15-8 Overall / 6-6 Conference)
The Fighting Irish have won all four games heading into a matchup with the Virginia Cavaliers in Charlottesville this Tuesday. After that, John Mooney and company will head to Durham to face their biggest test this season, the Blue Devils. Mooney is the Fighting Irish’s best player and one of the most productive in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) this season. Mooney is leading Notre Dame in both points (16.5) and rebounds (13.0) per game. During the Fighting Irish’s 61-57 road win last Sunday over the Clemson Tigers, Mooney had another one of his customary double-double numbers of 16 points and 11 rebounds, while Rex Pflueger had 18 points with a perfect 4-of-4 shooting from behind the arc. Notre Dame will go to Durham knowing it has a dependable duo in Mooney and Pflueger to carry the team. Beating Duke would require a total team effort, but having a strong tandem definitely is a big help for Notre Dame, which is 10th in the nation with 10 triples made per contest.
The Fighting Irish are 4-6 against the spread (ATS) in their last 10 games against Duke.
Betting on the Duke Blue Devils (21-3 Overall / 11-2 Conference)
The Blue Devils have been tested hard in their last two games, but they still managed to come away with victories. After edging their bitter rivals, the North Carolina Tar Heels in a 98-96 overtime win in Chapel Hill last Saturday, the Blue Devils defeated No. 8 Florida State Seminoles at home, 70-65, last Monday. Duke failed to cover the spread in each of those games, but are looking good in that regard in its next game. The Blue Devils are 2-1 ATS in their last three home games against the Fighting Irish, dating back to 2015. In 2015, the Blue Devils beat Notre Dame at home, 88-66, as a 15-point home favorite. Duke got help from up and down its roster. Tre Jones and Jordan Goldwire each had 13 points, while Matthew Hurt came off the bench and fired 12 points. Duke’s depth will be a key weapon for the Blue Devils against the Fighting Irish, who are only allotting 23.9 percent of minutes to bench players compared to 37 percent given to the second unit by Duke.
The Blue Devils are 3-3 ATS in their last six home games.
Writer’s Prediction
Duke wins, 81-71.
