FAVORITES

Dustin Johnson (+1000)

People still like Johnson’s chances to win this weekend despite the fact that he was miserable at the Memorial Tournament, where he missed the cut after firing back-to-back 80s in the first two rounds. That said, a missed cut isn’t customary for a player of Johnson’s caliber, and he could easily rebound from that kind of performance. Before the Memorial Tournament, Johnson won the Travelers Championship and had missed the cut just once. Overall, Johnson has three top 10s and four top 25s in eight starts this season.

Tony Finau (+1200)

Finau came back to life last week, as he finished eighth at the Memorial Tournament. That was his first top 10 since a runner-up finish at the Waste Management Phoenix Open way back in February. That performance at Muirfield Village could be the spark Finau is waiting for to further turn his season around. Finau finished with a T23 last year at the 2019 3M Open.

Brooks Koepka (+1400)

Koepka labored to make the cut over the weekend, but an 80 in the fourth round sent him finishing T62, another letdown result for the former no. 1 after missing the cut at the Workday Charity Open. Koepka finished 65th last year at the first staging of the 3M Open.

HIGH-VALUE SLEEPERS

Patrick Rodgers (+5000)

After missing the cut at the Workday Charity Open, Rodgers went back to work and finished a respectable T18 at the Memorial Tournament. He’s been a machine this season, playing 23 PGA Tour events and making the cut 16 times to go with six top 25s.

Will Gordon (+5000)

Sure, he missed the cut at the Rocket Mortgage Classic, the last tournament he played in, but it wasn’t that long ago when he finished with a T3 at the Travelers Championship back in late June.

LONG SHOTS

Aaron Wise (+15000)

Wise has a lot to learn before he becomes a star of the sport. He’s been cut 10 times in 15 starts this season, but he showed promise when he finished with a T3 at the Bermuda Championships back in October.

Stewart Cink (+15000)

Cink has made the cut 10 times in 12 starts, so far this season. His best finish was a T9 at the Houston Open. He recently finished with a T17 at the Workday Charity Open before a T62 at the Memorial Tournament.

Writer’s Prediction

Tony Finau wins the 2020 3M Open.
