FAVORITES
Jon Rahm (+800)
How can you not like the chances of Rahm to win this weekend? Even though he missed the cut last week at the Wells Fargo Championship, it should be noted that it was the first time he failed to make the cut in 23 starts. On the season, Rahm is ninth in scoring average and fifth in terms of greens in regulation percentage.
Bryson DeChambeau (+800)
DeChambeau is coming off a solid run at the Wells Fargo Championship last week. He finished with a 280 score, four under par to finish with T9. That’s a nice recovery for DeChambeau, who was T42 at the World Golf Championships-Dell Technologies Match Play and a T46 at the Masters Tournament. With newfound momentum, DeChambeau could keep it going this week at TPC Craig Ranch. On the season, DeChambeau has a couple of wins and six top 10s in 11 starts.
Brooks Koepka (+2000)
Koepka is all set to make his return to the PGA TOUR after not seeing any action in weeks. After getting cut at the Masters Tournament missed the next four events on the schedule to strengthen his knee that underwent surgery back in March. Of course, it’s uncertain how Koepka would perform after such a long layoff, but the fact that hes’ coming back strongly suggests that he’s feeling good enough to compete at a high level. Koepka has a win this season in 10 starts, and that was when he topped the field at the Waste Management Phoenix Open in February.
HIGH-VALUE SLEEPERS
Aaron Wise (+7000)
Wise caught people’s attention this past week after making the top 10 at the Wells Fargo Championship. He finished with a T9, and he will look to sustain his momentum when he tees off at the AT&T Byron Nelson on Thursday. Wise must be feeling confident heading to TPC Craig Ranch, as he’s won this event before. Wise won the 2018 edition of the AT&T Byron Nelson in record-tying fashion, as he scored 261 — tied for the tournament’s best ever.
Will Zalatoris (+2500)
Zalatoris has yet to win a PGA TOUR start, but that doesn’t mean people should just forget about him. The buzz is still very much alive with regards to Zalatoris after he finished second at the Masters Tournament. However, his stock is generally down after missing the cut at the Wells Fargo Championship. Sounds like a great opportunity to buy some Zalatoris stocks! On the season, Zalatoris has cracked the top 10 six times in 17 starts to go with 11 top 25s.
LONG SHOTS
Hudson Swafford (odds)
Swafford has missed the cut 12 times in 18 starts this season. He’s missed the cut in all of his last three starts. But here’s a good thing about him: he has a win this season, as he won the Corales Puntacana Resort & Club Championship back in September 2020.
Robert Streb (odds)
Streb also has a bunch of missed cuts this season. In fact, he’s only 7 of 17, but like Swafford, he’s got just as many PGA TOUR wins this season as Dustin Johnson. Streb won the RSM Classic in November 2020.
Writer’s Prediction
Will Zalatoris wins the 2021 AT&T Byron Nelson.
