FAVORITES

Rory McIlroy (+1000)

Ninth in the FedExCup season standings with 2,104 points, McIlroy is coming off a missed cut in the first stage of the 2022 FedEx Playoffs, so he will be eager to rebound this week at Wilmington Country Club. McIlroy finished the regular season with eight top 10s, including a pair of victories, which were at the 2021 THE CJ CUP @ SUMMIT and 2022 RBC Canadian Open. He has also cracked the top 5 in three of his last five starts overall.

Jon Rahm (+1200)

Rahm had a much better start to the playoffs than McIlroy, as he had a T5 at St. Jude. That performance also extended Rahm’s incredible streak of made cuts in PGA TOUR starts to 17. In fact, he has not missed a cut since the 2021 Fortinent Championship.

Justin Thomas (+1400)

After missing the cut at the 2022 Genesis Scottish Open, Thomas has responded to that letdown performance with a T53 at 2022 The Open Championship and a T13 at St. Jude. Currently 10th in the standings with 1,996 points, Thomas is always a name to watch out for in the playoffs, where he just always finds a way to be a potent threat to the rest of the field.

HIGH-VALUE SLEEPERS

Brian Harman (+7500)

Here’s what we said about Harman in our 2022 BMW Championship sleepers preview:

Ranked 23rd in the 2022 FedExCup standings with 1,344 points, Harman will look to build on an admirable T3 finish at St. Jude last week. Harman has now made the cut in each of his last three starts and in six of his last seven. Over that stretch, he has cracked the top 10 three times, which includes his T8 at the 2022 Travelers Championship and a T6 at 2022 The Open Championship. He owns a respectable 70.137 scoring average, good for 31st overall.

Sahith Theegala (+10000)

Here’s what we said about Theegala in our 2022 BMW Championship sleepers preview:

Theegala now has 1,099 FedExCup points after cracking the top 15 with a T13 last week at the 2022 FedEx St. Jude Championship. Back in the regular season, Theegala went 24 of 30 with 10 top 25s and five top 10s. His best finish this year to date was a T2 at the 2022 Travelers Championship. He also had a T3 at the 2022 WM Phoenix Open and a T5 at 2022 the Memorial Tournament presented by Workday.

LONG SHOTS

Lucas Herbert (+20000)

Herbert is 50th in the 2022 FedExCup standings with 796 points. He missed the cut at the 2022 St. Jude Championship but had a win in the regular season when he topped the 2022 Butterfield Bermuda Championship.

Matt Kuchar (+20000)

Kuchar has been in poor form of late, having been cut in both his last two starts, including in his appearance at St. Jude. That said, he had six top 25s and three top 10s in the regular season.

Writer’s Prediction

Rory McIlroy wins the 2022 BMW Championship.
