FAVORITES

Justin Thomas (+1000)

Thomas had trouble with his putter over the weekend at the 2021 Valspar Championship, though, he did put up a performance strong enough to land himself on top of the FeExCup standings. Thomas finished just 13th at the Valspar Championship, but he’s now made the cut in all 13 starts this season, including a win at THE PLAYERS Championship and four other top 5s. He should also be liking the location of the next PGA TOUR stop, as he’s won the 2017 PGA Championship at Quail Hollow.

Jon Rahm (+1000)

Rahm is set to return to action after tending to the birth of his first child. In his last start, he finished fifth a the 2021 Masters Tournament. Prior to that, he was ninth at THE PLAYERS Championship. He’s finished inside the top 10 in three of his last five starts and is 13 of 13 on the season. On the season, the 26-year-old pro from Spain is 23rd in terms of birdies (per round) and 10th on the money list ($3,556,232).

Bryson DeChambeau (+1400)

The hard-hitting DeChambeau has struggled a bit of late. He finished with a T43 at the World Golf Championships-Dell Technologies Match Play then had a T46 at the Masters Tournament. Still, he has made the cut nine times in 10 starts this season with five top 10s and two wins. He won the US Open last year and the Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by Mastercard back in March.

HIGH-VALUE SLEEPERS

Max Homa (+5000)

After getting cut at the Masters Tournament, Homa has picked it up with a T17 at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans and a T6 at the Valspar Championship. Those are momentum-building performances for Homa, who is gunning for history this weekend. There hasn’t been a back-to-back champion at the Wells Fargo Championship (including past iterations of the tournament), and now he’s got the chance to pull that feat off.

Aaron Wise (+12500)

No one wakes up and tells themselves that they are going to bet money on Aaron Wise to win. But we’re here to tell you that it’s not that bad of an idea, at least for this upcoming Wells Fargo Championship. For one, Wise is a 2 of 2 in his career at Quails Hollow Club. At the 2018 Wells Fargo Championship, Wise finished solo second, firing 68 in three of four rounds to finish 10-under-274. The following year, he finished 18th with a 5-under-279. He is also seventh this season in terms of Greens in Regulation percentage (70.96%).

LONG SHOTS

Xinjun Zhang (odds)

It’s going to take a tremendous amount of trust for anyone to lay money on Zhang. He has been cut in all of his last six starts and has cracked the top 15 twice in 21 starts this season.

Vaughn Taylor (+20000)

Taylor has missed the cut 11 times in 20 starts this season, but he’s coming off a T6 at the Valspar Championship — his first top 10 of the season.

Writer’s Prediction

Bryson DeChambeau wins the 2021 Wells Fargo Championship.
