It should be noted though that this tournament is just an alternate event, meaning the winner this weekend at Tahoe Mt. Club won’t have an automatic bid to the Masters Tournament. The purse for this year’s edition of the World Golf Championships-FedEx St. Jude Invitational is has gone up from $6.6 million in 2018 to $10.5 million in 2021. The last time this tournament was held. Dustin Johnson took home $1.188 million for winning in 2018. That was actually his second time winning this event. He topped the same tournament in 2012 and pocketed $1.008 million when the purse was at $5.6 million.
