Philadelphia Eagles vs New England Patriots Predictions, Odds, Picks and Preview -Super Bowl LII

It’s a tale of two teams for Super Bowl LII. On one hand, we have the New England Patriots, who are so used to making a trip to the Super Bowl. They have five title rings since Tom Brady started taking over the Pats’ offense, and will look for another one this year. The Philadelphia Eagles, on the other hand, have zero Super Bowl wins so far in the franchise’s existence. Will Brady get his sixth ring? Or will the Eagles get their first? Click Here to Register to Bet

Jan 25 Update: The line has moved from 5.5-points in favor of the Patriots down to 4.5-points, after a multi-million dollar wager in Vegas changed the spread across America.

Betting on the Philadelphia Eagles (13-3 regular season)

Point Spread: (+4.5)

Up against the Minnesota Vikings’ stout defense, the Carson Wentz-less Philadelphia Eagles did last Sunday what most people thought was unthinkable: destroy the Vikings’ stop unit. Spearheaded by super backup quarterback Nick Foles, the Eagles ripped through Minnesota’s defense for 456 total yards in a dominant 38-7 win in the NFC title game. Foles thumped his chest and threw for 352 yards on 26-of-33 completions with three touchdowns and no interceptions. At this point, there should be little doubt about Foles’ ability to lead the Eagles’ offense that ranked third overall back in the regular season with 28.3 passing yards per game. Having crushed Minnesota’s top-ranked defense in the manner that they did in their last game, Foles and the Eagles should come into the Super Bowl confident they could damage the Patriots’ defense that has allowed 29.5 points to their opponents thus far this season. The Eagles are 5-1 SU and 4-2 ATS in their last six road games.

Betting on the New England Patriots (13-3 regular season)

Point Spread: (-4.5)

Tom Brady’s throwing hand is fine. Brady’s injured right hand was a subject of too much intrigue heading into the AFC Championship Game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, but the legendary quarterback did not stop that from throwing 290 yards (26/48) and two touchdowns (with no interceptions) in a come-from-behind 24-20 win over the Jaguars at Gillette Stadium last Sunday. The Patriots’ passing game came through in the clutch with Danny Amendola scoring two touchdown grabs. Hulking tight end and Brady’s top target Rob Gronkowski was taken out of the game early with a concussion, and his status will be closely monitored for the next two weeks. That should be enough time for Gronk to clear concussion protocol though, so hopefully for the Pats, he will be ready just in time for another Super Bowl appearance. With Brady at the helm, the Patriots finished the regular season second in the league with 28.7 points and first overall with 393.8 total yards per game.

The Patriots are 9-1 SU and 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games overall.

Writer’s Prediction:

New England wins Super Bowl LII, 27-23.
