Betting on the Pittsburgh Steelers (+5)
Regular Season Record: 1-1
After an ugly win in Week 1 over the Cincinnati Bengals, the Steelers had an ugly loss in Week 2, absorbing a 17-14 defeat at the hands of the New England Patriots at home Sunday. Mitchell Trubisky went just 21/33 for 168 yards (1 touchdown, 1 INT) while also getting sacked three times for a loss of 16 yards. Running back Najee Harris rushed 15 times for just 49 yards. There could be more success in Week 3 for the Steelers offense that will battle a Cleveland team that hasn’t been doing a good job defensively through two games.
The Steelers are 3-1-1 against the spread in their last five games.
Betting on the Cleveland Browns (-5)
Regular Season Record: 1-1
Only the Browns could lose the way they did last Sunday, when they let the New York Jets overcome a double-digit deficit with just under 2 minutes remaining in regulation. Cleveland lost that game, 31-30, which will go down as one of the most embarrassing moments in Browns history, which is saying a lot considering that the franchise has had many of those in the past. The loss can’t be pinned mostly on the Browns’ offense, though, even with Jacoby Brissett throwing a late pick. Nick Chubb and Amari Cooper stepped up, as the former rushed for 3 touchdowns, while the latter had 101 receiving yards and a touchdown. The two can still do that against a TJ Watt-less Steelers.
The Under is 6-4 in the Browns’ last 10 games.
Writer’s Prediction
The Browns win, 23-17.
