Betting on the Pittsburgh Steelers (+7)

Regular Season Record: 1-2

The Steelers struggled again in Week 3, as they picked up a 24-10 loss at home to the Cincinnati Bengals. Prior to that, they lost to the Las Vegas Raiders, also at home in Week 2, to the tune of a 26-17 score. Over the past two weeks, the Steelers have had a hard time in both scoring and stopping their opponents’ attack. Apart from Ben Roethlisberger being old and past his prime, Pittsburgh also missed a number of key players on both ends of the field which explains their difficulties. Wide receiver Diontae Smith missed the Bengals game while JuJu Smith-Schuster was not able to finish that game due to injury. TJ Watt also didn’t play. However, all three have a shot at returning to action in Week 4, so their statuses are worth keeping a close eye on, as there could be so much value right now on the Steelers’ spread.

The Steelers are 24-8-2 against the spread in their last 34 games as an underdog.

Bet on the Steelers

Betting on the Green Bay Packers (-7)

Regular Season Record: 2-1

Aaron Rodgers just showed once again why the Packers are lucky to have him. The quarterback led Green Bay to a come-from-behind 30-28 road win over the San Francisco 49ers for their second victory in a row since losing Week 1 to Jameis Winston and the New Orleans Saints. Even if Watt plays this weekend, he can’t cover all the elite weapons over at the side of Green Bay. Rodgers is balling right now after completing 23/33 passes for 261 passing yards and two touchdowns with zero interceptions against San Francisco, while the threat of either Aaron Jones or Davante Adams going off is always high. The Packers are averaging 22.7 points this season, but if you take out their stinker in Week 1, they have an average of 32.5 points. The offense is humming for the Packers, and the Steelers seem to have the defense nor the offense to keep up with Green Bay.

The Packers are 5-2 against the spread in their last seven games overall.

Bet on the Green Bay Packers

Writer’s Prediction

The Packers win, 27-21.
