The Kansas City Chiefs are proving to be one of the most entertaining teams to watch in the NFL today, thanks to their offense and…well, just their offense, really. Patrick Mahomes and the rest of the Chiefs will fly back home for a Sunday match with the San Francisco 49ers, who are also looking to win their second in a row to gain some momentum in the NFC West race. Will Mahomes drop another multi-TD game to lead his team to victory? Or will this be Jimmy Garoppolo and the Niners’ time to shine?

Betting on the San Francisco 49ers (1-1)
The Niners must be feeling very good right now, after netting their first win of the season on Sunday by downing the Detroit Lions at home, 30-27. San Francisco quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo recovered from an ugly 2018 debut in a loss to Minnesota in Week 1, as he threw for 206 yards on 18 of 26 completions. Perhaps more importantly, he had two passing touchdowns against zero interceptions. Also coming through for the Niners in that game were their backfield. Running back Matt Breida burned rubber for 138 rushing yards and a touchdown on 11 carries. San Francisco finished the contest with 190 rushing yards on 28 rushes. Garoppolo and San Francisco’s attack are poised to have a much better outing this coming Sunday against Kansas City’s punching bag defense. The Chiefs have given up an average of 40 points through the first two weeks if this season.
The 49ers are 3-1 ATS in their last four road games.
Betting on the Kansas City Chiefs (2-0)
As implied earlier, the Chiefs have a defense that closely resembles a wet paper bag in terms of strength, and that poor quality of their stop unit showed up on Sunday, albeit in a 42-38 road win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. What they lack in bite on defense, the Chiefs – or second-year quarterback Patrick Mahomes – made up with their incredible attack. Mahomes was simply sensational, as he he became the first player in NFL history to record 10 touchdown passes in his first three game appearances when he passed for 326 yards (23/32) and six scores without an interception against the Steelers. The Niners will have their hands full trying to stop Mahomes, and you could expect them to after they allowed 329 passing yards and three touchdowns (no picks) to Matthew Stafford in Week 2. The Chiefs, however, have to show life on defense. They may have some success on the pass rush, as San Garoppolo was sacked six times for a loss of 50 yards by Detroit.
The Chiefs are 3-1 ATS in their last four home games.
Writer’s Prediction
Kansas City wins, 34-28.
