Betting on Serena Williams

Serena Williams is on a serious rampage. She has dropped just five games in her past two matches. She bested Teliana Pereira 6-2, 6-1 in the second round, and beat Magdalena Rybarikova 6-2, 6-0 in the first. It’s going to be very difficult to beat Williams in her current form on clay.

250x130--french-open

Williams has won 88 percent of her first serve points in the tournament thus far. She’s has just 22 unforced errors overall and 56 winners. She’s going to be very difficult to beat the way she’s been lights out on clay having won seven straight matches on the surface.

Williams has reached the fourth round of a Grand Slam six straight times. She’s looking at making it seven straight when she heads into the third round of the French Open.

Betting on Kristina Mladenovic

Kristina Mladenovic has been strong in this year’s French Open, but she hasn’t been too dominant. She beat Timea Babos 6-4, 6-3 and Francescoa Schiavone 6-2, 6-4 in the first two rounds. Mladenovic won 67 percent of her first serve points and 62 of her second serve points in her victory over Babos.

What makes Mladenovic impressive is her ability to win more than 60 percent on both her first and second serves. She puts a lot of pressure on her opponents with long, extended rallies. She is averaging 22 winners per match in the French Open. The Serbian has shown an ability to surprise some of the best players on the planet with five career victories over top 10 players.

Mladenovic is a proven top-30 player in the WTA. She has won five of her last six matches on clay.
