Betting on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-5)
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers might be the biggest disappointments in all of the NFL this season. Most people believed this team would be a playoff team, and a lot thought they could even be a sneaky pick to make the Super Bowl, but so far none of those look like they are going to ring true. They currently have a 2-5 record, and it really doesn’t look like it’s going to get any better anytime soon.
One of the biggest issues this team has had has been the play of Jameis Winston who has struggled this year. Now he is dealing with a shoulder injury, and is questionable for this game but he should play because he has played through this the last couple of weeks.
The shoulder injury probably has a lot to do with his struggles this year because he hasn’t been able to throw the ball right, but even before the injury he was still over shooting a lot of open receivers. On the defensive side of the ball they haven’t been terrible, but they haven’t been great either, and they are going to need to step up in this game with the offenses trouble scoring points. They are currently giving up 274.7 yards per game through the air.
Betting on the New Orleans Saints (5-2)
On the other side of this match up is the New Orleans Saints who have been one of the NFL’s nicest surprises this year. After starting the season losing two games, they have won five straight games and sit in first place in the NFC South.
A lot of that has been because of Drew Brees who is playing really well again this year. He has thrown for 1951 yards, 11 touchdowns and four interceptions. To win this game it’s going to be a very simple concept for the Saints. They need to try and make this game a shootout.
If they can turn this game into a shootout, the Buccaneers won’t be able to keep up. Look for Drew Brees to really try and attack a Buccaneers defense that has struggled.
Writer’s Prediction:
The Saints offense is too good right now, and that will be the difference in this game. Drew Brees will have no issue running up the score and that will lead to an easy victory, and a cover of the spread. Pick: Saints (-7)
