Betting on the Tennessee Titans (+3)

Tennessee put on an offensive show on Sunday afternoon, racking up a season-high 47 points, including 35 in the first half alone, to take down the visiting Packers.

Marcus Mariota completed 19 of 26 passes for 295 yards along with four touchdown passes, with each caught by a different receiver. Tight end Delanie Walker was targeted the most, capturing nine of 11 targets for 124 yards and a score—undoubtedly his best performance of the year.

The defense, meanwhile, also had its share of key contributions. Tennessee got five sacks on Aaron Rodgers, and managed to force three turnovers.

With that, the Titans, who are now 5-5 on the season, are in position for another victory against their division rival Colts this weekend. Indy currently ranks second-worst in the league in passing yards allowed (287.9 per game), something that Mariota and his receivers hope to fully capitalize on.

The Titans, however, are only 2-2 SU and ATS on the road this season.

Betting on the Indianapolis Colts (-3)

Indy got a confidence-boosting win over Green Bay before heading into its bye week, but its defense remains below average to say the least.

The Colts are one of four teams that are conceding at least 400 total yards per game. They’re also the worst in protecting their quarterback with a league-high of 33 sacks allowed. Two of which came in the win over the Packers, but Andrew Luck was able to shake it it off, including two early interceptions, as he finished with 281 passing yards with a first-half touchdown throw to Donte Moncrief.

RB Frank Gore came up big for Indianapolis as well, rumbling for a pair of touchdowns, with the second one coming in the fourth quarter which gave the team enough cushion to hang on.

Indianapolis, however, could find itself on the wrong side of the final score on Sunday’s upcoming clash with the Titans if it can’t provide some decent protection for Luck, who is 8-0 in his career against their AFC South rivals.

The Colts have also won the previous 10 meetings (9-1 ATS) with Tennessee.

Writer’s Prediction

Indy (-3) wins a close one, 30-27.
