The Toronto Argonauts are the only remaining team this season without a win in the CFL. It’s a pretty embarrassing predicament for the team, but they have a chance of ending their drought this coming Thursday against the Calgary Stampeders, who are eyeing to bounce back from a bad loss. Are we about to see Toronto win – finally? Or will their misery continue, as the Stampeders make a return in the win column?

Betting on Toronto Argonauts (0-4)
The Argonauts just keep on sinking lower and lower in the abyss of the CFL standings. In their latest attempt to score their first win of the season, the Argonauts fell to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on the road, 48-21. Toronto quarterback McLeod Bethel-Thompson passed for 338 yards on 22-of-39 completions to go with three touchdowns but also had two of his lobs intercepted. The Argonauts relied too much on their passing attack, and they will need for their backfield to be a little bit more active at the very least in their next game. They only had 65 rushing yards to 189 by Winnipeg. The Blue Bombers, after all, are tops in the league with just 48.3 rushing yards allowed per game. There should be more success on the ground for Toronto against Calgary, which has a stop unit that surrenders 92.8 rushing yards per contest. James Wilder Jr. leads Toronto with 117 total rushing yards on the season.
The over is 3-2 in Toronto’s last five road games.
Betting on Calgary Stampeders (2-2)
The Stampeders saw their momentum from a two-game winning streak go up in flames last week, as they fell victims to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on the road to the tune of a 30-23 score. They also failed to cover their spread as four-point road underdogs. It was an especially disappointing loss for Calgary, as the Stampeders finished with more total yards than Hamilton, 379-220. In other words, Calgary just couldn’t convert on most of their drives. Quarterback Nick Arbuckle went 24-for-40 for 368 passing yards with zero touchdowns and without an interception. Wide receiver Reggie Begelton had 119 receiving yards on eight catches while Eric Rogers added 70 receiving yards on five receptions. Defensively, the Stampeders secondary failed to contain Tiger-Cats wideout Brandon Banks who pulled down nine catches for 86 yards and two touchdowns. Upfront, though, the Stampeders were able to deal damage defensively, as they had four sacks to improve their season total to 11.0.
Calgary is 3-1 straight up (SU) and 2-2 against the spread (ATS) in its last four home games.
Writer’s Prediction
Calgary wins, 34-16.
