There’s just no stopping Toronto right now. The Raptors extended their winning streak to four games with a gritty 95-91 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers on Monday. Four players scored in double figures for the Raptors who moved 4.5 games clear of the Boston Celtics atop the Atlantic Division standings. They have now won eight of their last nine games.
Leading the way for the Raptors in this game were Kyle Lowry and DeMar Derozan. Lowry scored a game-high 27 points while DeRozan notched his first double-double of the season, nabbing 20 points and 10 boards. DeRozan’s clearly staking his claim as one of the league’s best players, averaging 27.5 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game this season. Key to the Raptors’ resurgence has been their excellent play on the offensive end. They’re third in the NBA in scoring, averaging 111.4 points per game this campaign. They have reached the 100-point mark in 16 of their last 17 games.
DeRozan, Lowry and the rest of the Raptors will look to keep the momentum going when they lock horns with the Golden State Warriors tonight. They will fancy their chances of doing just that as they have fared extremely well on the road of late. The Jazz have won each of their last seven away games, averaging 107.4 points during this span.
The Raptors are 7-1 ATS in their last eight road games.
The pain of last June’s epic Finals collapse returned in devastating fashion for the Golden State Warriors as they suffered a gut-wrenching 109-108 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Christmas Day. The Warriors squandered a huge 14-point advantage in the fourth quarter as they stumbled to their fourth consecutive loss to the Cavs. That heart-breaking defeat snapped Golden State’s seven-game winning streak.
They will look to get their season back on track when they host the Toronto Raptors this evening. The Warriors will fancy their chances of doing just that as they have fared extremely well at home this season. They are 12-2 at Oracle Arena this campaign.
