Betting on Tottenham Hotspur (-235)

Enough was enough for Tottenham Hotspur as they clobbered Swansea in the Premier League during the weekend, 5-0. Although both Tottenham and CSKA Moscow are out of contention for a berth in the knockout stages of the Champions League, the victor of this match will get a spot in the Europa League so still expect a hotly contested game.

Victory won’t be served on a silver platter for Tottenham against CSKA, however, as they are going to miss some key players with Ben Davies and Erik Lamela out nursing their banged up bodies. Tottenham’s midfield won’t be completely out of talent, though. A healthy Harry Kane will be looking to add to his team-leading goal total while Christian Erikson hopes to find the back of the net again after striking twice in the Swansea match. Kane, who also had a brace against Swansea, has seven goals in his last six matches overall.

Also look for more playing time from the young trio of Josh Onomah, Cameron Carter-Vickers, and Harry Winks.

Betting on CSKA Moscow (+500)

CSKA Moscow are wallowing in the bottom of Group E of the Champions League but won’t be holding back when they go up against Tottenham.

Hopefully for CSKA Moscow, their recent form portends of a win in London this Wednesday. The Russian club is on a three-game unbeaten streak, all of which were domestic league matches. The last one was a 4-0 thumping of Ural. Over the course of that three-match stretch, CSKA Moscow has scored six goals and conceded zero goals.

That kind of defensive intensity is something CSKA needs in order to hold off the attacks of Tottenham, who have scored seven goals in the past three contests.

If anything, CSKA might find some confidence from the fact that Tottenham have lost their last two Champions League home games.
