William Blackwell wasn’t playing around as he named Martin Truex Jr. as his top pick to win the 2021 Toyota / Save Mart 350. It’s not too bold of a prediction, either. After all, Truex has won both of the last two editions of this race in 2018 and 2020. Truex is also among the favorites to win this race even though he hasn’t looked good in his last two races, going 35th at the Series at Circuit of the Americas and 29th at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. All told, Truex has three wins, four top 5s, and five top 10s in 14 career NASCAR Cup Series starts at Sonoma Raceway.

Elliott is on a roll, and you can expect him to keep it up. The Team Hendricks Motorsports driver has cracked the top 10 in all of his last five starts. That includes his win in the 2021 EchoPark Texas Grand Prix at Circuit of the Americas last month. Covers is also on board with the Truex hype train, Understandable for reasons already mentioned earlier. Then there’s Kyle Larson, who is still fresh from his win in the 2021 Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway last Sunday.

Busch hasn’t posted a top 10 finish in any of his last 12 starts. Over that stretch, the best finish he posted was 13th in the 2021 TOYOTA OWNERS 400 at Richmond Raceway back in April. However, Busch will come into this weekend’s race with six top 10s in his last nine NASCAR Cup Series starts at Sonoma Raceway. That includes his win there during the 2011 Toyota/Save Mart 350.
