Hungary – No. 18 in FIFA World Rankings
Team Strengths:
In all honesty, there is no particular area where this Hungary team stands out. Apart from captain and star winger Balazs Dzsudzsak, their squad is made up almost exclusively of average to below average players.
But somehow, some way, they managed to get the results they needed to qualify for their first major international tournament in 30 years, which is quite the feat. The Hungarians, though, are priced at -190 to make a quick exit in the group stage.
Team Weaknesses:
Hungary is starved for offense. No player scored more than two goals during qualifying, as they were one of the very worst teams in terms of total goals scored (11) and goal attempts per game (11) among the 23 teams that qualified.Hungary’s players have not experienced the level of competition (for club or country) that will be played in the Euros, but their very green defense will be particularly worrisome. 40-year-old goalie Gabor Kiraly has 102 career caps; the possible back four in front of him has 66 combined.
