USC Trojans vs Oregon Ducks Predictions, Picks, Odds, and NCAA Basketball Betting Preview – January 23 2020

The USC Trojans are surging once again. They are on a three-game win streak, and the momentum should serve them good against the Oregon Ducks in Eugene this coming Thursday. The Ducks are no pushovers, though, with Payton Pritchard showing the way for the Ducks. Oregon and USC are +1200 and +12000 to win the national title, respectively.

Betting on the USC Trojans (15-3 Overall / 4-1 Conference)

The Trojans don’t break easily. Despite being down by 20 points at the half in their last outing, the Trojans managed to get an 82-78 home win over the Stanford Cardinal Saturday. The Trojans kept their chances of winning the game alive by relentlessly attacking the basket, which earned them numerous trips to the foul line. USC went 27 for 36 from the charity stripe, while Stanford was only 8 for 14 from there. The Trojans always find ways to fish for fouls, which is why they are 18th in the nation with 23.5 free-throw attempts per game. They had 18 offensive rebounds against Stanford, which only had nine offensive boards. The Trojans are 19th nationally with 40.4 rebounds per game, with forward Onyeka Okongwu leading them. Okongwu, who had 22 points, nine rebounds, and four blocks against Stanford, leads the Trojans with 16.9 points and 8.7 rebounds per contest.

The Trojans are 3-0 against the spread (ATS) in their last three games.

Betting on the Oregon Ducks (15-4 Overall / 4-2 Conference)

Payton Pritchard is one of the best players in the nation, and the senior proved that again with a fantastic performance in the Ducks’ 64-61 overtime road win over the Washington Huskies last Saturday. Pritchard scored 22 points, including a go-ahead 3-pointer with 3.4 seconds to go in overtime against Washington. Pritchard is on a hot streak right now. He is averaging 24.3 points in his last three games, including a 29-point explosion in the win over the Arizona State Sun Devils on Jan. 11 in Eugene. Pritchard, however, got just 18 points from the other starters, though Chandler Lawson came off the bench and fired 16 points. Oregon can’t be too reliant on Pritchard, who could cool off soon. Nevertheless, Oregon has one of the best offenses in the nation, ranking sixth in KenPom’s offensive adjusted efficiency and 18th in the nation with a 54.5 effective field goal percentage.

The over is 4-0 in the Ducks’ last four home games.

Writer’s Prediction

Oregon wins, 76-68.
