TV Broadcast: CBS

Betting on the Arkansas Razorbacks (+3.5)

Record: 22-13 Overall/8-10 Conference

Who’s gonna stop Arkansas? In the mind of the Razorbacks, there’s no one who can hold them down. After all, they dethroned the Kansas Jayhawks in a 72-71 win in the second round. Prior to that, Arkansas took down the Illinois Fighting Illini in the first round, 73-63. It’s just so hard to defend against Arkansas especially when all its top playmakers are feeding off of each other. The Razorbacks have five players averaging at least 11.0 points per game, led by Ricky Council IV, who is putting up 16.1 points per game. And then there’s the Razorbacks’ defense which is 15th nationally with 93.4 points allowed per 100 possessions adjusted.

Arkansas is 6-1 against the spread in its last seven games at a neutral site.

Betting on the Connecticut Huskies (-3.5)

Record: 27-8 Overall/13-7 Conference

UConn was among the teams expected by many to go this deep in the NCAA tournament. The Huskies got the ball rolling with an 87-63 win in the first round against the Iona Gaels of Rick Pitino before slamming the Saint Mary’s Gaels in the second round, 70-55. The Gaels had one of the best defenses in the nation (top 10, in fact), but that did not matter so much for UConn, which shot 54.0 percent from the field and hit 10 of 22 attempts from behind the arc. The Huskies are draining 9.1 3-pointers per game.

UConn is 7-1 against the spread in its last 8 games overall.

Writer’s Prediction

Arkansas wins, 74-73.
