TV Broadcast: CBS

Betting on the Miami Hurricanes (+5.5)

Record: 29-7 Overall/15-5 Conference

Jim Larranaga continues to weave his magic from the sidelines for the Hurricanes, who beat the Texas Longhorns in the Elite Eight round, 88-81. Scoring nearly 90 points in back-to-back games against elite defensive teams says a lot about how good really Miami’s attack is. Before beating the Longhorns, the Hurricanes defeated the Houston Cougars in the Sweet 16 round, 89-75. Miami is fifth in the nation in AdjO (119.6) and 15th with 79.6 points per game.

The Hurricanes are 4-0 against the spread in their last four games.

The Over is 4-0 in Miami’s last four games after a victory.

Betting on the Connecticut Huskies (-5.5)

Record: 29-8 Overall/13-7 Conference

The Huskies are the only program with at least a Final Four appearance among the ones left standing in this NCAA tournament. Connecticut showed no mercy for the Gonzaga Bulldogs in the Elite Eight round, as the Huskies bludgeoned Drew Timme and company, 82-54. That’s as big of a statement game as the Huskies can make, especially for their defense that shut down the No. 1 offense in the nation. The Huskies are 11th in the nation in AdjD (91.9) and 32nd with just 64.4 points allowed per contest, so far this season.

UConn is 4-0 against the spread in its last four neutral site games.

The Under is 6-1 in UConn’s last seven games after a win.

Writer’s Prediction

Connecticut wins, 79-76.
