Betting on West Ham United (+675)

West Ham United are having a pretty disastrous end to their season. With virtually nothing left to play for, the Hammers have won just once in their last 11 games (five draws, five losses). They drew 0-0 away at Stoke last week, their third stalemate in a row. They’re currently in 15th place, seven points from the relegation zone, but there’s still a mathematical chance they can go down.

The Hammers’ misfiring attack has been a huge cause for concern. They’ve scored just three goals in their last five games. Top scorer Michail Antonio (9 goals) is set to miss out due to injury, but Andy Carroll (7 goals) may feature in some capacity to help break through a stubborn Spurs defense.

West Ham don’t have a particularly impressive record against Tottenham, or other London opponents for that matter. They have won just once in their last five meetings against Spurs (1-1-3), and are only 2-3-5 in their last 10 London derbies.

However, they did beat their London rivals at Upton Park last season, and with some pressure mounting on manager Slaven Bilic, West Ham may have all the motivation they need to play spoiler to Spurs.

Betting on Tottenham Hotspur (-290)

Tottenham have been far and away the form team in the Premier League. They extended their winning streak to nine games with their famous 2-0 win over Arsenal, ensuring they will finish above their North London rivals for the first time in 22 years.

Harry Kane once again got on the scoresheet for Spurs against the Gunners, his third goal in his last four games. Kane has a healthy habit of scoring in London derbies. He has scored 18 goals in his last 20 games against other Premier League London clubs.

Meanwhile, the Tottenham defense—the best in the country with just 22 goals conceded—continued its impressive play. Spurs have now registered four consecutive clean sheets in the league, and five in their last six games.

Spurs are still just four points behind leaders Chelsea with only four games left. Their chances of winning the title remain slim, but they can put more pressure on Chelsea if they can cut the deficit down to a single point before the Blues play on Saturday.

Writer’s Prediction

Tottenham (-290) stretch their win streak to double-digits with a 2-0 win over West Ham.
