Betting on the Wisconsin Badgers (6-1 Overall / 3-1 Conference)

The Badgers can very well kiss their bid for a College Football Playoff goodbye after getting stunned by the unranked Illinois Fighting Illini in Champaign last Saturday, 24-23. It was easily one of the most astounding losses this season and in recent years. The Badgers had not allowed a point in four of their previous games, including a 38-0 shutout win against the Michigan State Spartans at home in Week 7. Illinois was not supposed to be the team to expose and beat Wisconsin, but the Fighting Illini did, and now, the Badgers will have to dig deep and forget the loss as they prepare for a matchup against the high-scoring Buckeyes side. Minus the psychological effect of that loss, the Badgers should have everything they need to beat Ohio State. They began Week 8 11th in the nation with 39.7 points per game and tops overall with just 7.6 points allowed per contest.

The Badgers are 6-4 against the spread (ATS) in their last 10 road games.

Betting on the Ohio State Buckeyes (7-0 Overall / 4-0 Conference)

The Buckeyes had a very nice Friday night last week, when they annihilated the Northwestern Wildcats, 52-3. The duo of quarterback Justin Fields and running back J.K. Dobbins was unstoppable in that game. Fields passed for 194 yards and four touchdowns with zero interceptions on 18-of-23 completions, while Dobbins ran circles around the Wildcats’ defense for 121 rushing yards and a touchdown on 18 carries. Wisconsin is still going to be a force on defense, but the Buckeyes are getting the Badgers at a great time. The Badgers must still be feeling shell-shocked by the time they step on the field in Columbus, and it’s sure not going to help them playing on the road and in front of a rowdy, hostile crowd that’s going to let Wisconsin hear it nonstop.

The Buckeyes are 4-0 straight up (SU) and 4-0 ATS in their last four games against the Badgers at home, dating back to 2007.

Writer’s Prediction
