Cleveland Indians vs. Toronto Blue Jays (4:00 PM ET)
Line: Cleveland Indians (TBA) vs. Toronto Blue Jays (TBA) – view all MLB lines
The Blue Jays are facing elimination in the ALCS, as they are now down 0-3 in their series against the Indians, who won Game 3, 4-2. Aaron Sanchez will step on the mound later today hoping he can help the Blue Jays turn things around. Sanchez was a disaster in his first appearance this postseason, though, allowing six earned runs, albeit in a 7-6 win over Texas back in the ALDS. The Blue Jays are 3-0 in Sanchez’s last three starts.
Over on the other side, the Indians will send strikeout machine Corey Kluber to the mound. Kluber was stellar in Game 1 of this series, tossing six scoreless innings while striking out six in a 2-0 victory. The Indians are 4-0 in Kluber’s last four starts.
Writer’s Prediction
Cleveland wins, 5-4.
Chicago Cubs vs. Los Angeles Dodgers (8:00 PM ET)
Line: Chicago Cubs (-124) vs. Los Angeles Dodgers (+114); total: 6.5 – view all MLB lines
With the series tied, the Cubs will turn to ace Jake Arrieta, who no-hit the Dodgers the last time (August 30, 2015, the 2015) he pitched in Chavez Ravine. Arrieta received a no-decision in his last outing, allowing two earned runs on six hits on a 6-5 loss to San Francisco in Game 3 of the NLDS.
As for the Dodgers, they’ll have Rich Hill on the hill. The lefty lasted just 2.2 innings in the 4-3 win over Washington in Game 5 of the NLDS. He’ll come in fresher than usual though given that early rest. The Cubs are 6-4 in Arrieta’s last 10 starts, while the Dodgers are 2-1 in Hill’s last three.
Writer’s Prediction
Los Angeles (+124) wins, 4-3.
