Kevin Chappell (+2,800)

One golfer who can definitely surprise this week is Kevin Chappell. The 30-year-old has been playing some solid golf of late, notching top-10 finishes in two of his last three starts, including a playoff loss to Rory McIlroy at the Tour Championship. Chappell also loves playing in the CIMB Classic as evidenced by his top-3o finishes in this tournament in each of the last three years. With the form that he is in right now and his experience with this particular event, look for Chappell to add to his trophy collection this week.

Justin Thomas (+1,800)

Justin Thomas captured the imagination of golf fans everywhere with his stunning victory in the CIMB Classic last year. He shot a tournament-record 26-under-par total of 262 to pull off a one-stroke victory over Australian star Adam Scott. It was a remarkable victory for Thomas who captured his first-ever PGA Tour title. Thomas will fancy his chances of retaining the crown this week as he has fared extremely well in the PGA Tour of late. Thomas is fresh off back-to-back top 10s at the Tour Championship and last week’s Safeway Open.  That being said, look for Thomas to be in the hunt once again here in Kuala Lumpur.

Brendan Steele (+2,800)

Another golfer who can definitely make a run at the title this week is Brendan Steele. He has been on fire to start the season, grabbing a one-stroke victory in the Safeway Open last week. He will look to carry that excellent form in the CIMB Classic this week, the site of his third-place showing a year ago. For Steele to become the PGA Tour’s first multiple winner this season, he will need to continue his excellent play with the par-5s. He co-led the Safeway field in par-5 scoring last week. That will come in handy for Steele when dealing with the long 7,005-yard, par-72 TPC Kuala Lumpur course.
