The first Sprint Cup race of 2016 at Michigan International Speedway is just a few days away, with NASCAR’s top stars all revved up to start piling up even more wins and cash prizes as we roll with the midway point of the season. 2016 FireKeepers Casino 400 Prize Money Breakdown
Sad to say, but there’s no proper way of telling whether or not the FireKeepers Casino 400 will have a more sizeable purse compared to last year’s Quicken Loans 400. As we’ve clarified in our past editions of this feature, NASCAR has stopped releasing information about their prize-money distribution beginning this 2016 season.Nonetheless, and in spite of this week’s race being one of the less lucrative events on NASCAR’s calendar, each and every driver that takes part of the action on Sunday will have a hefty paycheck waiting for them at the finish line, regardless of the order of finish.
Based on last year’s data on the Quicken Loans 400’s final results, 29 of the 43 drivers from the field receive a six-digit haul at the end of the day. That’s even includes Kyle Busch, who finished dead last in the race due to an unfortunate accident, but still received over a hundred grand thanks to other miscellaneous advertising and sponsorship incentives. Busch probably wasn’t that bummed out about his miserable outing after he was still gifted with all that dough, right?
