Bleacher Report

Expert Winner
Ben Alberstadt Matt Kuchar

Ben Alberstadt has made his pick and it is Matt Kuchar who he thinks will win the Valero Texas Open this year. What makes Kuchar such a good pick in his eyes is his excellent record here at San Antonio. The PGA Tour stalwart finished 15th at last year’s event and a respectable fourth in 2014. Kuchar is 4-for-4 here with his worse finish a T22.

He has been playing some solid golf as well, notching top-15s in every other start this year. In fact, Kuchar is coming off a ninth-place showing at the recently-concluded RBC Heritage tournament. With the form that he is in right now and his experience with this particular golf course, Kuchar has an excellent chance of capturing the title this coming weekend.

CBS Sports

Expert Winner
Kyle Porter Bryson DeChambeau
Robby Kalland Patrick Reed

Kyle Porter of CBS Sports is firm in his belief that Bryson DeChambeau will win the Valero Texas Open this week. He fared extremely well in his professional debut at the RBC Heritage tournament last week, finishing in a tie for fourth with a five-under-par total of 279. DeChambeau has been playing some solid golf of late, grabbing top-30 finishes in each of his last three PGA Tour starts.

That being said, it won’t be smooth sailing for the talented youngster this coming weekend. According to Porter’s colleague Robby Kalland, it is Patrick Reed who will take home the crown this weekend. The Texan leads the PGA Tour with seven top-10 finishes, three of which have come in his last four starts. Reed is sixth in the PGA Tour in scrambling (66.81%) and 19th in strokes gained from tee-to-green (.971).

U.S. Golf TV

Expert Winner
Troy Klongerbo Chris Kirk

Troy Klongerbo of U.S. Golf TV has made his choice and it is Chris Kirk who he believes will win the Valero Texas Open this week. He has been playing some incredible golf of late, mustering three top-25 finishes in his last four starts, including a ninth-place showing at the WGC-Dell Match Play Championship. Kirk also knows his way around this Oaks course as evidenced by his eighth-place finish in this event last year. Look for the 30-year-old to contend this week at TPC San Antonio.
