The US Men’s National Team will be back in tournament action this summer with the 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup. After their disastrous run in the last edition of the tournament in 2015 under Jurgen Klinsmann, how far can Bruce Arena lead the USMNT in his first Gold Cup back in charge?
That’s the focus of a couple of Gold Cup prop bets which are now available on Top Bet. Let’s check them out below and find out which side to bet on.

2017 Gold Cup USMNT Prop Bets
As expected, the USMNT is the co-favorite at +125 along with Mexico to win the Gold Cup. The US squad will not feature a lot of their big names like captain Clint Dempsey, star striker Jozy Altidore, and rising superstar Christian Pulisic. However, they should still have more than enough quality to get far in the tournament which they have historically done very well in.
The US is in Group B alongside Panama, Martinique, and Nicaragua, so you’d have to figure they should top that group easily. Meanwhile, rivals Mexico will be in Group C with El Salvador, Curacao, and Jamaica.
If the two teams win their groups as expected, they will be placed on opposing sides of the bracket, and will only get to meet in the final if both make it that far.
Will the U.S. Men’s National Team reach the final of the 2017 Gold Cup?
Since the US’s inclusion in the Gold Cup in 1985, they have made into the final 10 times (with five titles) in 15 attempts. With that impressive track record, you’d certainly like its current price at -200 to make it back to the Gold Cup final after a disappointing fourth-place finish in the 2015 edition under Klinsmann. Meanwhile, they are priced at +160 to get knocked out prior to the final.
Will the U.S. Men’s National Team reach the semifinal of the 2017 Gold Cup?
There is also a prop bet for whether they will make it to at least the semifinal stage. YES is at -500 while NO is +350. This USMNT may not be at its best, but it’ll take an absolute catastrophe for them not to make it to the semis as the odds suggest.
In the 15 editions of the Gold Cup they’ve participated in, the USMNT has failed to make it to the semis just twice—their debut appearance in 1985 (knocked out of the group stage) and in 2000 (quarterfinals). There are obviously very few sure things in sports, but a success rate of 13-of-15 has to make you confident that the USMNT will be semis-bound once again.
