Oakland looks to complete a four-game home-and-away series sweep of the Giants later tonight, when they give the ball to Dillon Overton. Overton has made just one start this season. That was on June 25, when he allowed three earned runs on three hits in 5.2 innings of a 7-3 road win over the Angels. The Giants, meanwhile, will have Madison Bumgarner on the mound. Bumgarner is 8-4 with a 1.99 ERA in 16 starts thus far this year. The Giants are 4-1 in MadBum’s last five road starts. The Athletics are 7-3 in their last 10 games.
Writer’s Prediction
San Francisco wins, 3-1.
Baltimore Orioles vs. Seattle Mariners (10:10 PM ET)
Line: Baltimore Orioles vs. Seattle Mariners; total: 8.5 – view all MLB lines
The Orioles look to extend their win streak to seven games later tonight in Seattle. Chris Tillman gets the ball for Baltimore, which won Wednesday over San Diego, 12-6. Tillman (10-1, 3.52 ERA) is coming off a forgettable start, yielding six earned runs on 10 hits in five innings of an 8-6 home loss to the Rays on June 25. The M’s counter with Taijuan Walker (3-6, 3.45 ERA), who had a solid showing in his previous start. Walker held Boston scoreless for five innings, albeit in a 2-1 loss at Fenway Park on June 19. Seattle is 5-5 in its last 10 home games.
Writer’s Prediction
Seattle wins, 4-3.
