Eastern Conference leader New York is out to give the Sky another loss, when the Liberty pay the Allstate Arena in Rosemont a visit later tonight. The Liberty, who are coming off a 78-74 win over Seattle on Wednesday, are 8-2 SU and 6-2-2 ATS in their last 10 road games.

Against Seattle, Liberty was led by Tina Charles, who registered 18 points, six rebounds, and four steals. Charles went off for 21 points on 8-for-18 shooting from the field to go with 13 boards and four assists in a close 80-79 win over Chicago on June 24 so expect the league’s top scorer to step up again to counter whatever it is Chicago’s Elena Delle Donne will put up. Charles tops the WNBA with 22.8 PPG.

Of course, she’ll need help from the likes of Sugar Rogers and Shavonte Zellous, who average 16.1 PPG and 9.4 PPG, respectively.

The Liberty will also rely on their defense that ranks third in the league with only 80.5 points allowed per contest.

Betting on the Chicago Sky

After an 87-82 road loss to Minnesota on Tuesday, the Sky return home looking to right their ship. They are just 2-6 SU in their last eight games and are now just fourth in the Eastern Conference with a 7-10 SU overall record.

A lot will be riding on the shoulders of WNBA MVP Elena Delle Donne, who is second to New York’s Tina Charles in league scoring with a per game average of 21.4 PPG. Donne forgot she had teammates and muscled her way through to a 38-point night, her most thus far this season. Donne did get some support from Jamierra Faulkner, who came off the bench and fired 18 points but none of her fellow starters scored more than six points. Up against New York’s tight defense, the Sky must spread out the distribution on their offense to keep the Liberty guessing at the very least.

Speaking of defense, Chicago is just eight in the WNBA with opponents hanging 84.3 points per game against the Sky. The Sky have been worse of late, letting other teams score 88.6 PPG.

Chicago is 3-1 SU in its last four home games.

Writer’s Prediction

New York wins, 84-78.
